Wychwood Ladies Committee
The Committee Team
I started playing hockey at the age of 14 at Henry Box School and then joined Wychwood L.H.C when I was 17.
I have always played an active part in the running and development of the club and I have been Chair since May 2016. As chair it is my job to lead from the front and support the committee members in their roles. I also make sure that committee meetings are planned effectively and that the club is run in line with the constitution. My passion is for all ages and abilities to be able to enjoy the wonderful game of hockey at our club!

Vice-Chair, Fixtures & Umpires Secretary
I have been a member of Wychwood LHC since deciding to pick up a stick again over 10 years ago. During my time here I have been 1st team Captain, Vice-Captain and Coach. Having recently sent myself on the Level 1 Umpiring course it felt like a natural step to join the committee as Fixture and Umpires Secretary. It’s my job to maintain positive links between the club and our Umpires as well as inspiring many of our players to take on umpiring for themselves. I am also responsible for ensuring all of our pitches are booked for fixtures and training and that our umpire appointments are made for all of our fixtures.

I joined the club 26 years ago following in my mother's footsteps. Having watched my mum play for the club in my younger years I was keen to join as soon as I turned 13 and have been actively involved ever since as a general committee member, Vice-Captain and currently as the club Secretary. It is my role to take the minutes of the committee meetings and keep everyone in the club up to date with all of the goings on by the committee.

I joined Wychwood Ladies in 2015 and immediately enjoyed the relaxed and friendly feel to the club. I played hockey all throughout school and university so I was thrilled to find such a lovely local club to join. As Welfare Officer, it’s my job to promote safeguarding, diversity and inclusion in the club so that we all get to enjoy hockey in a safe and welcoming environment.

I joined Wychwood LHC in September 2017 and have loved being a part of the club ever since. I hadn't played hockey since University but was made to feel welcome from the first training session. The club has grown so much in the short time I've been a member and as Development Officer, I'm keen to keep that growth going and encourage more girls and ladies to get involved with our amazing sport and club.
Treasurer & 1st Team Captain
I joined Wychwood in 2018 and very quickly grew to love the club. I have always been keen to help out and took it upon myself to organise some new kit for players. This led to a natural progression to becoming the club treasurer. It's my role to keep accurate records of the income and expenditure of the club.

I have been playing hockey for Wychwood since 2016 and was really happy to find such a welcoming club! I’ve been slowly getting more involved with the Wychwood family and, having been the 2nd team captain during the 2018-19 season, am keen to stay an active member of the committee.
Our Presidents and Vice Presidents
Wychwood Ladies Hockey Club is headed by a President and Vice Presidents who are former players or people who have significantly contributed to the club.
Presidents and Vice Presidents are offered honorary membership of the club including voting rights. They are also invited to matches and teas at The White Hart on a Saturday when they can also watch current teams play and catch up with old friends.
President - Terry Jacobs
Terry has been an avid supporter of the club since its formation in 1973. His daughter joined the club in the early days and Terry became a super supporter on the sideline. Terry still comes to support the team even on the cold winter days, and it is always great to have him!
Paula Crowther, Anne Dobson and Helen Saunders have been active members of the club since its early days. They have taken on many roles in the club between them from captain to vice-captain and various committee member roles. Although they have all now retired from playing they all keep a close eye on the club and volunteer as and when its needed.
Mary Pimm has been an active volunteer for the past 45 years and is responsible for producing three generations of hockey players for Wychwood Ladies Hockey Club. When Mary's daughter joined the club 45 years ago she took on the role of washing the players kit every Saturday after each game and maintained this role for many years. Now an avid supporter she loves to hear of the clubs progress.
